Other payments that may be paid include:

Travelling Expenses - for journeys to & from official council meetings, training events etc but not for visiting residents, dealing with casework or attending community meetings.

Special Responsibility Allowances - for Councillors with additional duties such as The Mayor, Leader & Deputy Leader of the Council, Chairmen & Vice Chairmen of Committees.  As a Vice Chairman in 2010 - 2011 Richard receives an additional, taxable, allowance of £2050.

Full details of the Members Allowance Scheme may be seen here.

In 2008 - 2009 we both received a one off payment of £500 (made in June / July 2008) when we agreed to use our own computers, printers and consumables for the duration of our 4 year term of office.  This means that the Council does not incur any ongoing IT costs - such as provision of software, hardware, printers, consumables or IT support during our term of office.

Formerly, the Council made a payment of £25 to Councillors for attending authorised training events and workshops. We both received a payment of £300 (made in May 2009) for events we attending in 2008 - 2009 municipal year. These payments ceased at the end of 2008 - 2009.
